Prefer everyday examples or explanations one step at a time? Tell Smith, then choose to remember that message. It can help make future replies about the same exam and topic more useful to you.
- Turn it on. After your first reply, open Chat options (•••), then Things Smith remembers. Turn on Let Smith remember.
- Choose what to remember. Choose a short message you wrote and select Remember this.
- Stay in control. View remembered messages in Settings & usage. Select Forget this to remove one, or turn the feature off to forget them all.
For example: “Please use a simple example when explaining income and substitution effects.” Choose Remember this so Smith can use your preference for later help on that topic.
This is off by default. Nothing is remembered automatically. Forgetting a message does not delete your saved chat. Your test results and study plan stay unchanged. See privacy details.

Saved chats, test explanations, reports, exports and privacy controls do not use AI credits. Failed or safety-withheld replies do not use your credits.
How credits work
Tokens are small pieces of text, such as a word or part of a word. Smith uses tokens to read and reply. Your credits are used based on token usage—not just the message you type.
The test question, its explanation, earlier messages needed for context and Smith’s reply all count. Longer conversations, detailed replies and questions that need more working out can use more tokens and credits.
Check your remaining credits in Settings & usage.
Credits are complimentary once per exam package. Deleting chats does not add more. Daily limits may apply. Credits cannot be transferred, and buying credits is not supported yet.

Can Smith help with UGC NET Economics and Paper I?
Yes. Smith is included in Xaptiq’s UGC NET Economics test series for reviewing submitted Paper II Economics and Paper I General Paper questions. Ask about an answer, request a simpler example or work through the reasoning one step at a time. Active package access and available credits are required for new replies.
How do I access Smith?
Smith is included with exam packages where it is enabled. After submitting a test, open your results and select Ask Smith beside a question. You need active package access and available credits to ask for new replies.
Does Smith search books or recorded lectures?
Not in this version. It starts from the submitted question, answer key and reference explanation, with relevant chat history and messages you have asked Smith to remember. Book and lecture search are not connected.
What if a reply seems wrong?
AI can make mistakes, and the reference explanation can also have inconsistencies. Use the report control beside a reply to share it for review.
Why might a reply be stopped?
Smith is for educational conversations. Safety checks run before a reply is generated and before it is shown. Unsafe content or unavailable checks can stop a reply. Checks can make mistakes; they do not automatically penalise your account.
Who can see my conversations?
Only reported chats are visible to our admins and teachers. A report includes your message, Smith’s reply and the test question. You can choose whether to include the rest of that chat. Read the Smith privacy details or manage the choice in Settings & usage.
